I attended the second session of the 2013 Te Papa Treaty Debate series this evening. The format was a little different to previous sessions, which have usually had two prominent Treaty commentators each present to the audience gathered at Te Papa. This evening we heard shorter presentations from four 'young New Zealanders', followed by a discussion facilitated by Kim Hill.
The four presenters - Julia Whaipooti, Reed Fleming, Duran Moy, and Mihiata Pirini - were all fantastic!
If you want to hear intelligent, thoughtful, engaged, and passionate people discuss the Treaty in its broader constitutional context, I recommend that you tune in to the radio broadcast: Radio New Zealand National after the 4pm news on Sunday (3 Feb) and repeated on Tuesday (5 Feb) after the 9pm news.
